Ryan Adamson

Education

Ryan is former student of the Alleyne Secondary School, he holds an Associate Degree in Marketing from the Barbados Community College, Certificates in Bar Technology and Events Management from The
Pomarine Hospitality Institute BCC, and he also holds a BSc in Sociology and Political Science from the UWI.

Work Experience

For the past 9 years he has worked at the Visitor Centre for Mount Gay Distilleries where he is Head Mixologist where his duties and responsibilities include Bar and Restaurant supervision. He is also tasked
with the responsibility of crafting and creating signature cocktails for most events held at the Visitor Centre, as well as most major events sponsored by the Mount Gay Brand.
In addition to working at the Visitor Centre Ryan owns THE BARMAN, a bespoke bartending and mixology service which provides a wide range of bar related services, i.e., Bar Management, Bar‐staffing, Training and cocktail design just to name a few.

Award Winning Mixologist

Ryan holds the title Barbados’ Bartender of the Year 2016‐2017, he represented Barbados at Taste of The Caribbean in Miami June 2016 where he won a gold medal and in June 2017 where he again won a gold medal, a gold medal for best rum drink and copped the prize of Caribbean Bartender of the year 2017.

Ryan also held the titles NIFCA Mixologist of the year 2015‐2016, 1st runner up NIFCA Mixologist of the year 2016‐2017. He also won Country Sizzle Mixology Competition May 2016 and placed 3rd at Clash of the Titans November 2016 and won the grand prize at the Clash of the Titan 2017.

Ryan has also been appointed Bar Training Manager for the Bar aspect of the Barbados Culinary Team for the Past 3 years 2018.
