King Servant

Hailing from the beautiful island of Barbados, this son of the soil they called Kingservant has returned from a self-imposed hiatus with a name and a new sense of purpose - To bring King and Kingdom to the people through music.

Once operating under the name Servant, he was one of headliners of the group Rugged Royalty, which gained a respectable local following. In 2012, just before taking a break from the music scene with the birth of his first child, he recorded the song Daddy. This song, incidentally, would play a role in springing him back into action several years later when, in 2019, he would perform it to earn second place in the inaugural Reggae Stars Competition.

Kingservant also connected with renowned local artist, songwriter, and producer Jaicko Lawrence around the same time, and with whom he collaborates in writing and honing what is becoming a distinctive sound.

2020 releases have included Soul Cry ( produced by David Thomas), Jah's Grace, Not Me and most recently King Ting (produced by Andrew Thornhill), of which audiences got a pre-release sneak peek during an impromptu "Quarantine Concert" which Kingservant released on Youtube.

Kingservant has a unique ability to deliver both uplifting as well as challenging message through his poetic lyrical style, and musical sound that has been described as "a stellar mix of traditional roots and modern reggae, with a hint of hip hop and dancehall".

Apart from music, Kingservant is an entrepreneur and investor involved in several projects, a multi-sport athlete and certified coach and trainer, as well as a passionate environmentalist. However, his most treasured role is that of husband to his amazing wife, who is his biggest supporter, and father of his two phenomenal daughters.

Kingservant is currently working on a multi-track project which is due for release later in 2020.
