Amaal hails from Southern California, but currently resides on the rural East coast of Barbados with her husband and two children. While her professional background is in academic education, over the years Amaal has taken greater interest in health and wellness of mind and body, and the synergy that can be attained through the care of both.
For years, Amaal has worked as a behavioral coach and mentor, helping individuals and families identify negative thought/behavior patterns, then strategize methods for updating mindset for more productive and positive behaviors. While yoga began as a personal practice for her, the desire to share its benefits with her extended community has grown as well.
She has been practicing for over 15 years and she says, "It is one of my sincerest pleasures to transmit yoga in its highest form to anyone willing to learn. I believe that yoga is for everyone and should not be limited to prohibitively expensive studios, a specific age group, or to folks who are naturally flexible or strong.
Yoga is a practice in achieving balance of mind and body, and this is something we all can benefit from." Some of her hobbies include writing, cooking, baking, surfing, spinning, and reading.
